Lapidary is the cutting and shaping of stones. Our shop is currently set up for cutting and shaping stones of larger sizes, we are not set up for faceted of gemstones. Use of this shop's tools requires a safety and use certification. For more information on our classes you can visit [1] for our calendar. There are two levels of class that are currently offered. Metals 500 Lapidary 1, this covers the shop ettiquette, cutting and shaping of stones, what you can or cannot cut in the shop, and hands on experience with each of our cutting tools. Our instructors lend their own experiences to the class. Metals 501 Lapidary 2, this class covers the shaping of stones you will have cut several stones in the first class and will use them in this class to finish the lapidary process. Each class takes about 2.5 hours to complete. We also offer a full day workshop one Sunday a month. This would be a start to finish class completing all of the tasks for the two classes previously described. Class sizes are currently limited to two people.
