Finishing a piece is sometimes an art of its own. For one thing, it requires an assessment of when you think your piece is done - "finished". That varies from piece to piece, and artist to artist. Let's start with what most might consider to be required for a finished piece.

Buffing and Polishing[edit]

Patination[edit]

Surface treatments[edit]

  • Hammer texture
  • Satin finish
  • Wire brush

Dyes, Inks, and other color application[edit]

Protecting a finish[edit]
